What is RoDTEP?
RoDTEP (Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products) replaced the MEIS scheme in January 2021. It reimburses embedded taxes and duties that are not refunded through other mechanisms — such as VAT on fuel, mandi tax, electricity duty, and stamp duty on export documents.
RoDTEP Rate Schedule
Rates vary by HS code and product category, typically ranging from 0.5% to 4.3% of FOB value. The DGFT publishes the official rate schedule. Key sectors:
- Textiles & Garments — 2.5% to 4.3%
- Chemicals — 1.0% to 3.5%
- Engineering goods — 0.5% to 2.5%
- Agricultural products — 0.5% to 3.0%
- Leather & Footwear — 2.0% to 4.0%
How to Claim RoDTEP Benefits
- Ensure RoDTEP is claimed in your Shipping Bill (tick the RoDTEP checkbox).
- After LEO, RoDTEP scrips are credited to your DGFT account.
- Use scrips to pay customs duty on imports, or transfer/sell them on the DGFT portal.
How Eximly Tracks RoDTEP Automatically
Eximly auto-calculates your RoDTEP entitlement per shipment based on HS codes and FOB value. Track scrip credits, utilization, and transfers from one dashboard. Never miss a claim again.
